Remote Laptop Video Chat Station

Sunday, December 16th, 2012

So, a while ago, I blogged about a Remote Laptop Carrier made out of Lego’s and controlled using a Lego Mindstorms NXT to be used for my family’s New Years’ Eve party this year.

I had a bit of a reconsideration to the design after thinking about the amount of space this thing would need to run around. Simply put, there isn’t enough room for 25 people and a klunky remotely-controlled robot in my parents’ home. So, I brainstormed a bit, and came up with this:

Card Cataloger

Friday, December 14th, 2012

I have a lot of Magic: the Gathering cards. A LOT. Okay, so I exaggerate, but it’s more than I care to manually catalog myself.

So, on a recent 10-hour trip back home from vacation, I brainstormed on how I can accomplish this without painstakingly pawing through each card.

Tutorial: A Blog?! How You Do Dat?!

Monday, December 10th, 2012

A friend recently asked me how I started my own blog. Good question!

Before you even think about starting a website, figure out what it is you’re wanting to do. You could start a blog, manage a forum, sell your vintage tube socks, the sky’s the limit!

I decided on a blog because that best suited how I was going to use it. I write posts, categorize them by subject matter, and publish them. This doesn’t mean I can’t change my blog into a forum later, but it does give me a direction to start moving in.

Tutorial: Help! My Computer is Dying!

Saturday, December 8th, 2012

No, not my computer. This is something I hear said a lot. Generally, what happens is someone has a computer that hasn’t been opened in a while and still has the original bloatware installed from when it was first bought.

Here are a few games I still enjoy in some regard.

Mindstorms Remote Laptop Carrier

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

I live about 4 hours away from my parent’s home, which makes it somewhat difficult to drive there whenever I want to.

Since we do have a New Years’ Eve party every year, and I will be unable to make it this year, I decided to start work on a “way for me to be there without physically being there.”

Phil’s Deck Builder

Wednesday, December 5th, 2012

A while a go, I decided to make a deck builder for Magic: the Gathering. I originally designed the program in Visual Basic, but after going through the trouble of trying to share it with my friends, I re-wrote it in Java.

Hello everyone! I’ve finally decided to revamp my website.

…and by revamp, I mean, get back on its feet! :S

I’ll be adding content throughout the day, so check back later!
